The film made on the basis of a book by Richard Yates. April and Frank Wheeler is young marriage living with two children in suburban Connecticut in the mid 50’s.
Both effectively mask the frustration caused by failure to meet both in connection and career. Frank was in a well-paid but dull office work, housewife, April, still crying ever standing before her chance to make a career of acting.
Unable to endure the everyday life that surrounds them, decide to go to France, where he will be able to develop their artistic sensibilities free from the requirements of the consumer capitalist America.
But when their relationship turns into a infinite bandwidth quarrels, jealousy and mutual accusations, their travel and dreams of meeting the face hazards.
